Data analysis library for fault diagnosis and performance analysis
Summary
Domain domain Independent
Skills PC software (.NET, database), Mathematics and Statistic
Team Size Self only
Duration 6 Month (including defining requirements and evaluating various options)

Objective: Our product division was working on collecting real-time process data from various types of process and high capital instruments. There was a need to develop a data analysis library that could be used directly with the collected data and be configured easily to suit the domain. The basic objective of the library was to perform fault diagnosis and performance analysis using mathematical modeling.

Challenges:
  1. Variety of data to be handled
  2. Ability to create appropriate mathematical model with the knowledge of mathematics.
  3. Ability to easily apply the model to the real-time data and seek interpretation
  4. Use the library over historical data as well to define non-tangible inferences.

Solution: Used .NET to develop the library. Also developed an application to easily pull any database containing real-time data to create model. The application also stored the model into the same database that could be used later for analyzing real-time data.
